Hi, I’m Jim!

I’m an educator, author, and speaker. <— what my resume says

what my resume doesn’t say —> I’m a dreamer, doer, and follower of Jesus.

I dream it, then I do it. And I help others do the same.

I worked in K-12 education for nearly 30 years, including more than two decades in leadership at a Christian school. During that time, I led our school from:

  • 140 students —> 600+ students (with 250 on the wait list)

  • $400,000 annual budget —> $6.5 million annual revenue

  • teacher pay at 60% —> teacher pay at 95%, with benefits

  • unaccredited school —> dual-accreditation

  • Abeka curriculum —> International Baccalaureate (IB) World School

  • traditional classrooms —> collaborative learning environments

  • unknown vision & mission —> vision-aligned culture & practices

  • low parent satisfaction (NPS 51%) —> high parent satisfaction (NPS 94%)

  • ineffectual Chapel & Bible —> intentional and systematic Chapel & Discipleship

I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Instruction & Curriculum from the University of Florida.

I serve as the marketing & enrollment consultant for both the Van Lunen Center and the Herzog Foundation, training school leaders in the strategies to grow and manage their enrollment needs.

In February 2019, I delivered my first Ted Talk, “Future Ready Schools,” which can now be seen on the Tedx channel on YouTube.

In 2023, I published my first book, One Generation to the Next: A Guide to Forming Your Faith and Finding Your Way, which became the #1 new release in the Christian Faith category on Amazon.

I’m a frequent speaker at conferences and schools and have given keynotes and led professional development workshops across North America.

I am passionate about strengthening Christian schools by encouraging and equipping its leaders.

I live in Gainesville, Florida, with my wife, Hannah, and our 5 children. When I’m not writing, speaking, or attending school events, I enjoy playing pickleball with friends.
